The general circulation of the atmosphere
Article Abstract:
The view of atmospheric general circulation presented focuses on a continuum of idealized circulations with axisymmetric flow statistics. Analysis of the observational data for Earth's atmosphere, simulations and theoretical considerations suggest how characteristics of tropical Hadley circulation, extratropical circulation and atmospheric macroturbulence depend on planet radius, rotation rate and strength of the differential heating at the surface.

The early origins of terrestrial [C.sub.4] photosynthesis
Article Abstract:
The early origins of terrestrial [C.sub.4] photosynthetic pathway in plants were studied. The [delta.sup.13]C records from paleosol carbonates, ungulate teeth and plant derived compounds indicate that [C.sub.4] plants represented an important part of plant biomass by the Early Miocene and that continental aridity and wind strength increased during the Late Miocene.

Planetesimals to brown dwarfs: What is a planet?
Article Abstract:
'Planet' is a very widely used term and its meaning is under debate as the scientists do not have a accepted or clear definition of the same. There are nearly four basic arenas with which the planet can be defined, and they are characteristics, circumstances, cosmogony, and culture.
